Craving for Native Chicken: Ate Josie..! d original native chicken BBQ
July 2016
Had our OBT or the One Big Tuyok in Dumaguete City or UniverCity one early saturday evening.
By the way, One Big Tuyok or "OBT" is what we usually do, It's a roaming around the city riding a scooter with no exact direction, just roaming around.-)
After an hour of just wasted time but for us we enjoy doing it roaming around Dumaguete. We feel hungry and so were looking for a perfect spot to have our dinner. Were looking for a typical tocino "ihaw" dinner with "puso" rice. While driving our way going Hibbard avenue passing Silliman Univercity we spotted Ate Josie!! Grill House.
Calm and peaceful ambiance inside a typical vintage house in the city ,with tasteful "inihaw na bisayang manok" organic native chicken and tocino with isaw, they also have grilled pork belly at a very budget friendly "pang studyante" price.
Tocino display, Chorizo and grilled pork belly is also available. You just have to choose and picked up your favorite tocino and inihaw and let them grilled.
Took photo at there counter with the inihaw na manok and tocino.
Inside the area you will noticed aquariums showcasing different species of fish. hmmmmmm They have fighter fish, koi and gold fish and others. I'm not that really well verse to fish classification.
Anyway, after few minutes of waiting, and here you go the "bisayang inihaw na manok" native grilled chicken.
The taste is different compare to those not native chicken. You can really taste its distinct sweetness, the yummy native chicken unique in the city just grilled savory enough to feed your hungry tummy.
About to attack the native grilled chicken..
A very tender and easily chewed chicken.
After our savory and tasty grilled chicken dinner. I have to take my mandatory picture at Ate Josie...! Grill House. the original bisayang manok BBQ..come and try there native grilled chicken for your self.
